Ashby American Flag Committee

In honor of our great Nation, Veterans and loved ones, the Ashby Police Department, in cooperation with the many Veterans Organizations in the Town of Ashby, have established an American Flag Committee.

This Committee has been organized to decorate the telephone poles along Main St. Extending from County Road to the Mr. Mikes Mobil, with American Flags. At this time, Fifty-two (52) Flags are available. We expect that a lot more than the initial 52 will want to be purchased. For this reason a waiting list will be established. We will purchase additional flags for those waiting in multiples of 25 at a time. There will be (2) 3 x 5 Flags on each pole.

The Flags will first be displayed for Memorial Day, and stay on display through the 4th of July. The Committee will determine any other special occasions or legal holidays on which the Flags should be displayed.

These Flags will be offered to the community on a first-come first-served basis. Each flag set can be purchased for $50.00 cash or check. Also included in this price is a brass nameplate with the inscription of who purchased the Flag and why (i.e. in memory of, in honor of, donated to, etc.) which will be mounted on a wooden plaque and displayed at the Ashby American Legion Hall.

This is a non-profit program. Any additional monies are placed in a fund to maintain, replace and/or extend the area. Fund raising events determined by the Flag Committee will take place throughout the year.
