Gas Permit Fees
- Residential base fee $40.00 Plus $8 for each fixture:
MINIMUM $48 *(1)- Replacement gas appliance $30.00 *(2)
- Replacement gas water heater $30.00 plus Plumbing Fee $15.00: total $45 *(2)
- Conversion to LP or natural gas $40 plus $10 per fixture *(1)
- Underground LP and natural gas inspection (includes 1 inspection) $50 additional inspection $45
- Commercial base fee $50.00 plus $10 for each fixture:
MINIMUM $60 *(1)- Replacement gas appliance (includes 1 inspection) $50.00 additional inspection $45
- Conversion to LP or natural gas $50 plus $10 per fixture *(1)
- Underground LP and natural gas inspection $75 *(3)

- Commercial base Fee $50 plus $10 for each fixture: MINIMUM $60 *(1)
- New or Replacement Electric Water Heater $40 *(2)
- Solar Systems for Water Heater $75 *(2)
REINSPECTION FEE FOR INCOMPLETE WORK OR CODE VIOLATIONS $50
All work shall comply with 248CMR, Plumbing Code and MGL Gas Code
*(1) Based on two inspections. Additional inspections are an additional $45
*(2) Based on one inspection. Additional inspections are an additional $25
*(3) Based on one inspection. Additional inspections are an additional $50
Permit fee will be doubled when work is started before a valid permit is issued and obtained.
