Notice of Public Hearing - Marijuana

In accordance MGL Chapter 40-A, sections 5 & 11, the Ashby Planning Board will hold a public hearing on March 22, 2017 at 7:45 PM in the Ashby Town Hall, 895 Main St. Ashby, MA 01431, to discuss with and hear comment from the public regarding the following amendment to the Ashby Zoning Bylaw.

The complete text is on file with the Ashby Town Clerk and available to the public during regular office hours.  Any person wishing to appear at this hearing should be present at the above time and place or persons may be represented by an agent or attorney.  Written comments will be read into the record.

Notice of Public Hearing - Compact Development

In accordance MGL Chapter 40-A, sections 5 & 11, the Ashby Planning Board will hold a public hearing on March 22, 2017 at 8:00 PM in the Ashby Town Hall, 895 Main St. Ashby, MA 01431, to discuss with and hear comment from the public regarding the following amendment to the Ashby Zoning Bylaw. 

The proposed zoning amendment create an overlay district that would allow compact development by special permit on lots at least eight times the minimum lot size required in the underlying district.  The number of houses allowed would not exceed the number allowed in the underlying district however the houses can be located in a more compact arrangement than permitted in the district.  There is no minimum frontage or acreage required for each house.  If one or more houses are eligible for inclusion in the state Subsidized Housing Inventory one additional housing unit above the maximum allowed is permitted. House size is limited to 1500 square feet living area. At least 50% of the original lot must be preserved as open space.
